I think I would give this book a 3.5 stars if I could. Although I loved the character development and the descriptions of the Folds and the activities that Lira gets up to, I thought the main setting (no spoiler there) was strange for the first book in a series where the characters don't know each other very well. I didn't actually finish this book; I was reading it on Kindle unlimited but my trial ended. Unfortunately it didn't pull me in enough to want to buy it to finish it.

I thought it was a slow beginning. I liked the ideas in it though. It had a lot of promise but I didn't really like the characters.
