What Members Thought

The very moment I began reading this book, I was entranced by the magic of words. The descriptions are so perfect, the characters and scenery so vivid in my mind, that I couldn't bare to stop reading. Bastian is such a poor soul in the beginning, but he has a great adventure ahead of him. The world of Fantastica is crumbling and getting wiped away by "the nothing", and only Bastian can save it. 4 stars for the first half, which is awesome and so so similar to the movie (which I have seen hundreds of times). 2.5 stars for the second half, in which we watch Bastian go through many super boring “adventures” and become increasingly bratty and self-centered throughout.
If I ever re-read this, it’ll only be the first half. But I’m glad to have read it anyway.
