Engaging, fast-moving, facinating. It did not feel even half as long as it was. I hated putting it down to the point that I was doing crazyreader things like running off to the john at work so I could finish a chapter - only, often the chapters blended, so I'd have to then go down on a fake smoke break so no one would think that I had a stomach bug or some such.

The length of this book daunted me. There are 594 pages in the edition I’d picked up from the library. And this was my first book by Willis. Was I being too ambitious? Shouldn’t I have just picked up a shorter one? I suppose that’s why I left it to the end.
But in the end, my question was, why hadn’t I picked up anything by Connie Willis sooner? Passage was such an absorbing read. Every time I put it down, it was with such reluctance.

I've given this a fairly low rating compared to Willis's other books, which is not to say it's not good -- just that it wasn't as satisfying for me as some others. Also, it isn't my favorite time travel genre. But, for all that, it kept me reading and thinking right to the end and would be well worth your attention.

Loooooved this book. Connie Willis is becoming one of my favorite writers. This is a twisty scientific mystery, that in the hands of a lesser writer would have never worked out. Willis is a master of plotting and of writing to keep you interested. I stayed up too late reading this last night. If you like more philosophical sci-fi, you will like this book.
