The Queen: 4 stars, I didn't like King Clarkson in the series and a look through the eyes of Amberley didn't help his case. Seeing a glimpse of her Selection was fun though.

The Prince: 4 stars, you get Maxon's perspective starting just before the Selection begins until very early in the process. You can see what he sees in America, but there were later events that I wished to see his perspective too.

Lame. Short perspectives from other characters in the series-no new insights. I can understand why the author needs to develop these to flesh-out the story, but not everyone needs access to them. It felt like a ploy to buy another book in the series-which is what I did, so it worked.

I like the extra bits an author shares with the audience to add insight and light to places that were shadowed or dark. It’s all about perspective.
