What Members Thought
I am new to Sedaris' writing. Wow. The man wields prose like sorcerer with a wand. Yes it is humor but it is also clever and smart and thoughtful and engaging. I was really blown away at his execution and all the choices he makes along the way to the end of each piece. I haven't read anything that impacted me this way in quite a while. It is inspiring. Favorite pieces for laughs were You Can't Kill the Rooster and Me Talk Pretty One Day which had me crying in my airplane seat. The man next to me

Some of David Sedaris's stories actually verge on heartbreaking if looked at in a different light, but he is really funny. His books are great on audio, as he performs them himself, and his timely dry wit comes through in performance.
