Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling. Until I read the book book, I'd never seen the Mindy Project but now I'll be catching up on the series. Her writing is sarcastic and straightforward so I loved reading it. For anyone who wants a quirky look at Hollywood, why not pick up the book? ...more

I like Mindy Kaling when I see her interviewed, and I've enjoyed some of her work, but I haven't consistently watched TV much in the last few years, so I know I've missed the bulk of her work.

That being said, I really liked this book. Kaling is honest, thoughtful, witty, and talented, and that comes through in this book in every chapter. My favorite three parts were:
- the collection of electronic correspondence of her Sliding Doors self if she went into teaching
- her frank discussion of her body ...more

I think she is very funny and I thought this might be similar to Chelsea Handler but I wasn't very engaged in it. I listened to this as an audio and I am not sure if that played into it since I prefer reading. I might retry it by reading it. ...more
