I liked this one even more than her first book, and I agree with the other reviews that you can sense her maturity in this one. One of my favorite chapters was her Sliding Doors alter-ego life as a Latin teacher in a New York prep school. I really loved this book. Disclaimer: I love pretty much everything Mindy Kaling does.
That disclaimer aside, I found this book hilarious. It is a very fast read, so it would be great for reading during a commute or at a beach. This book follows nicely in the tracks of her last one. I can say, there are several chapters that, if you are as big a Kaling fan as I am, you may have read in magazines, but they were still fun the second time. Mindy is hoot. I love her. I admit I get her confused with her character Mindy on her tv show - its good to read her books and remind me, 'oh here is the real Mindy." She is clever and smart and witty. I admire her path - she is not only holding her own with other comedians she is killing it. This cannot be easy for a woman, not to mention a woman of color. I really celebrate her success. She is talented and smart.
