I love this author. I listened to Ta-Nehisi read the book - there was so much to listen to, i had to really, really listen. I loved this essay or almost letter to the author's son. He said so many insightful things. This is the kind of story that can be taught in a college seminar and it would take weeks to get through it. The words that stayed with me the most were "my body." It’s hard to rate a book like this. I have a lot to process and it was very helpful, but it wasn’t written for me and I am so ignorant on this issue. I have a lot more to learn before I start assigning stars to a black man’s book on race.

The audio is read by the author, which is a great way to experience this powerful work
