I listened to this on audio and, while thoroughly enjoying, I also found a lot of it repetitive and gruesome. I don't normally get squeamish and, I didn't with this book but a lot of the horror seemed gratuitous to me. A wife finds out her husband, of many years, if involved with snuff films, and the making of. Horrible stuff but I think the reader could have gathered that without a lot of the details. BUT...a good listen!! ...more

2.5 rating. I can see a lot of the appeal of this book, and I definitely wanted to know how it ended. However, the actual journey to the end wasn't as fun for me. I am WAY too much of a questioner for this style to work for me; I criticize decisions and get annoyed when people can't see things clearly/figure things out. Overall, I did like the plot and the story, and the characters ended up being ok. It just wasn't as good for me as I hoped it would be. ...more

Big disclaimer!!!
This book needs a HUGE disturbing disclaimer on it. It is not just about a murder mystery, it’s about a very sick type of person who engages in murder porn which I never in my life needed to know about. The author gets you into the story and characters and mystery and then throws this content at you and it’s way too disturbing. I feel Iike it could have just been a murder mystery as murder is enough evil as needed for this storyline so definitely not worth the imagery it all of ...more
