What Members Thought

This was wonderful. It captured the essence of mothers and daughters in such a profound way, all while telling interesting and entertaining stories. The writing was excellent and I loved the way the stories were sectioned off, moving back and forth between the generations. Such a rich reading experience.

It was not what I thought it would be. It was better. Reminds me a lot of The Empress of Salt and Fortune, Crying in H Mart, and Pachinko.

Why have I not read this book earlier? Such a beautiful historical fiction. It weaves the stories of “The Joy Luck Club” woman from china with the stories of their daughters in America.
