Second review (12/19/24) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐:
I think I just wasn't prepared for how SILLY this series would be the first time I read this. I seemed to expect it to be a proper mystery. Plus, this book is still good enough for me to power through

I read this book for a book club I've joined. It's a good, light read. It's set in Victorian England, which adds some fun to the situations. It's got werewolves and vampires and such. And it's steampunk, which I didn't think would translate well to a non-visual media, but it did nicely. The author has a good sense of humor. A fun read. ...more
