Well, I'm not the last person to read this book, but I felt like I was. And now I've read it. And I kind of wish I hadn't. I admire the author's creativity, the plot so compelling (although predictable in places--Desi, for ex.), and the characterization of the 2 protagonists. A stunning achievement. Just so messed up that I'll have a headache for a while, trying to wash these wastrels out of my head. Reminded me of the movie Double Indemnity.

Sweet Jeebus thank God that's finally over. I didn't think I'd ever get to the end. It was so incredibly BORING. Even when I finally got to the infamous "omg" moment it still wasn't enough to save the book. Then after the initial surprise moment it went right back to the tedious never-ending story I've come to know and loathe.

Gillian Flynn is finally getting all of the attention she deserves now that Gone Girl is a bestseller. Yet I am so utterly disappointed with this book. The dark and twisty writing in Sharp Objects drew me in and I enjoyed Dark Places as well. Hearing of a new Gillian Flynn book is cause for joy in my nerdy librarian heart but I have been unable to get through this book. I just don't give a damn about Nick and Amy. I wish they would both jump into the Mississippi.

Wow - what a book! First of all, it has way too many F-bombs so if you can find an edited version go for that one, but beyond that the author is brilliant to write such an intricate story and nail the characters and the plot. I was drawn in and loved listening to it (the audio characters did an amazing job with voices interpreting the characters!) I did find a few holes in the so-called perfect evidence that were not discussed( you will see what I mean by evidence when you read it). I could not

I'm not sure why it took me ten years to get to this once wildly popular thriller. The pacing of this book is nearly perfect. At just the point when the reader is feeling like the story makes sense, it takes a turn. I really liked the examination of the psychological side of these characters and the depth of their crazy was explored. Overall, the book is pretty far-fetched, but it was impossible to put down and I listened to the whole book over the course of two days.

If you are going to read only one novel this year, it should be Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn!!
This book had so many twists and turns, I was left speechless several times! A bit graphic at times, but aside from the language, WOW!!! What a page turner!!
GREAT GREAT BOOK!! Read it!! :)
