Loved the book - but the ending was terrible -almost dragged on too long and then nothing - ugh

Wow; what an amazing book! It took me awhile to get going with this book, but once I was able to get into the storyline the other day, I was really hooked with the story. I can't really say a lot about the story without giving too much away, but I can say that once you get your way through the first part of the book, you will be hooked and I can see why a lot of readers like this one. I would actually give this a 3.5. It was a good mystery/thriller, with quite a few reversals and surprises, and enjoyable to read. Some of the writing was quite good. This was definitely a book where none of the characters were likable (except maybe Go), which didn't bother me - it just added to the atmosphere. It was made more interesting to me because we drove through Hannibal MO last summer, and it was exactly as described in the book - a creepily quiet and depressed almost-ghost-town.

This book takes over your life until you finish it... completely engrossing. I was disappointed in the ending, but the writing is superb.
Hated the narrator and his wife within a few paragraphs and decided not to spend any more time with them.
