That’s from the first page of the book and it is fitting. This little novella will jerk you around. Apologies for the crude analogy but it is literally and figuratively related to the story.
Flynn’s story starts out terrific. Different, authentic, quirky, and wonderfully written. As things progress it gets creepier and better. Very engaging and had me wondering in the middle if I would rate it 4 or 5 stars.
And then it goes off the rails. What a disappointment.

I didn't stop giving hand jobs because I wasn’t good at it. I stopped giving hand jobs because I was the best at it.At some point, I absolutely could not set it down, I HAD to find out what happened next, and I was mentally cackling at how awesome and unexpected its twists and turns are. It was great!

Meh.
Just okay.
I listened to the audio book version of this and it was just a little over an hour long, and I thought that it was pretty good for being a short story. Very twisty and leaves you very unsure at the end.
