I had bought the book a number of years ago and I can't recall what the circumstances behind the purchase, but I suppose a large part of it was the reviews I had read on various blogs and that was probably a huge influence on my purchase. But nonetheless, this was a book that I had a hard time putting down, when I was in my reading mode (I sometimes lost a bit of focus and got a little antsy due to the length, but that isn't neither here nor there and not the point of this review). I'm a book reader, but I'm not a book collector. I keep very few of the books I read. Instead, I read a lot and pass the books along. I have a few trilogies and series that I've kept, but other than that I have a grand total of only 8 stand alone books that I've held onto because they moved me enough that I knew I'd want to read them again, or at least have them on my shelf to remind me of whatever it was about the book that I so loved.
