Rounded up from 3.75. Not what I expected!
I am always intrigued by books that depict a character's descent into madness, and this one was really eerie because it seemed to drag you down along with Tom. As Tom's sense of self and his concept of reality began to crumble, I found myself constantly switching his roles around in my mind -confusing his lies withe the truth and reality with his fantasies. Despite all of the crimes he commits, I felt nervous whenever be came close to detection, and I actually hoped that he wouldn't get caught.

Not quite sure what the lesson learned could be for a novel that ends like this! Very different from the movie version.
