After reading Awakening by the same author, I couldn't wait to read her first book, which this was. Like Awakening, it features a highly skilled professional woman who is also a bit of an athlete and daredevil. I guessed a lot of the supposed twists and turns in this book, but it didn't hinder my enjoyment. A creepy tale based on the legend of the Kunal Trows, a human-like, patriarchal species with many gory secrets.

I think this is likely my favorite of her books. It's the 10th out of 11 that I've read, and I couldn't put this down.
