Boy... finally read this one. I've had it on my Goodreads bookshelf for 3 years and my actual bookshelf for at least two. It just hasn't ever called to me insisting that I read it. Well as soon as I started catching snippets of the upcoming movie trailer I had to cover my ears and sing "La la la" because I didn't want to know anything about it. I liked the plot, and I liked the voice. However, it was very, very slow-moving...the first third was like slogging through a swamp. It did pick up when the main action began, but still, the only things that kept me going were the well-done voice and the desire to see exactly how Pi would manage the situation.

I'm also a bit over the "I'm going to present this work of fiction as a nonfiction story I uncovered" angle. ...more

LOVED book, even more the second time around...and I NEVER read a book twice! It just sucked me right in and the description was easy-to-read, it drew a vision in my head, and it kept me turning page after page. Interesting info about the habits and personalities of animals, also. I can't wait for the movie. ...more
