I think I would have liked this novel a little better if I casually stumbled upon it, but in my case, I think it was overly hyped. The first 1/3 of the book was pretty slow and took me a while to get through, but looking back on it, Pi's description of how he found religion (in many forms) was one of my favorite parts. Once he was lost at sea, the story certainly became interesting, but I didn't feel it was as amazing as others made it out to be.

I picked this book up several times before I really got into it. When I really started to read it, I really enjoyed it - it is not typical of the usual books I read. I call this a philosophical book.
A long, fantastical story with an interesting ending. It will be interesting to see how the movie portrays the book and keeps interest for most of the story.
Great story about a boy on a lifeboat with a tiger. I loved it!
