Really liked the art work, story was fine too. Nothing special happened but maybe we should not always expect that something strange happens in the books. It's coming from a young girl spending summer with her family at a cottage, normal people, normal daily struggles.

I have to agree that this is more YA for adults than YA. I guess the publishers knew that, given that they claim this book reinvents the teen graphic novel. At any rate, I really liked it, but it definitely seems to have an adult eye to the way the teens in the story perceive and experience things. I read this book, like many graphic novels, in about an hour, hour and a half. It's somehow lushly-drawn in just two colors - blues and whites - and those colors are perfect for a summer beach story. Except when I say "beach story," I mean it takes place at a beach, not that it's a beach read. The story follows Rose and her family's annual summer trip to the beach, where she reunites with her best summer beach friend, Windy, once again, and they spend their days doing teenage girl beach stuff -
