Overall, I enjoyed this book. The story itself was well written. I was disappointed in the ending, however, and wished it continued on just a little bit more.
I was not impressed with the narrator of the audiobook version. His supposed Detroit accents sounded more New York to me. I've lived in Detroit, and my family still does. I don't think I've ever heard a native Detroiter speak with such an accent!

So I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked the beginning. And most of the middle, though it did start to drag on and on for a while there. But I was disappointed in the end, it all just wrapped up so abruptly and neatly. And I could have done without the narrator interrupting himself to tell us about his dates. The book just felt like it went on too long. The author could have cut it by about half and it would have been great.

I am currently rereading this book for a book club discussion. I loved it.
