Love this book!!
I had forgotten how amazing the world of Hogwarts and Harry and magic is - this is such a wonderful, comforting, exciting book, full of friendship and adventure and the most lovely world-building. I get nostalgic for a place that doesn’t even exist every time I go to Hogwarts with Harry for his first year.
2021 read via audio and it was just awesome - so very well done and such a comforting book to return to.

I can't believe I got addicted to Harry Potter on my writing residency! I know I'm a million years behind everyone else, but I guess I haven't read any books "for fun" in awhile since I'm always trying to read books by people whose workshop I'm in, or for research. But my self-care buddy insisted & then I was hooked ... I forgot how much of a sucker I am for books involving magic, wizards & witches, flying & weird names for things!

27 years since I first read HP book 1, I decided to revisit it as an audiobook - half expecting not to enjoy it. I was wrong and I now get the hype around Stephen Fry as a narrator. In Ron's words - he is bloody brilliant.

I just reread this book on my new Kindle Paperwhite (my first eReader ever!) and really enjoyed it. At times it was almost like there was a live stream of the movie playing in my head while I was reading. And I totally teared up at the end, when Dumbledore and Ron and Hermione are visiting Harry at the school hospital. And when Neville is awarded the winning 10 points for standing up to his friends?? Such a fun and endearing story.

Originally started reading this series to escape 9/11 coverage, and was immediately sucked in. Now that I've read the last one, I'm going back to the beginning to catch the details on the second run through.
Reread in September 2007 after finishing the series. Amazing to see where things started after finding out how they end. J.K. is one bright woman. ...more
