When I noticed that Patrick Rothfuss was the first reviewer for this book on Goodreads, I had just finished reading Name of the Wind. Although I didn’t love that book either, I recognized Rothfuss’s artistry for character development, plot construction, and world building. I thought maybe Scott Lynch would have all of those things too - like attracts like, afterall - but maybe Lynch’s style would be more to my liking.
