Slow to start the first third of the book (I was just distracted), but am extremely happy I kept going. The story (for me, again, I was distracted for the first few days of reading) picked up and TOOK OFF after that. Twists and turns and surprises. I'm always excited to read stories about how lives interact and come full circle.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked that the story was told over three generations, and that each part of the story was equally important. I also loved the references to other authors from the various time periods represented in the book. The imagery was haunting, and it will stick with me for quite some time.
Well written, even though it was a long book, I didn't want it to end.
