I think I'd give this 3.5 stars overall. I had noted this as a book I read previously on Goodreads, probably when I started my account forever ago, but now I'm thinking I never read it as a kid, or I read a very much abridged version. There was a LOT I didn't know / remember about Tom and Huck and their adventures.

Very readable, easy to see why this story would have been so popular -- especially with boys -- when it was first published.
