I loved this book. From the first page it drew me in so that I could not put it down and had to read it in a day! I avoided it for a while due to all the hype, I guess I did not want to be disappointed but I truely was not. The flow of the words is amazing, I felt like I could touch, see, hear and smell the world of the Mariam and Laila.

I thought after reading The Kite Runner, that this book would not follow in its footsteps. I was wrong! What a great book that reminded me of 2 things, 1)I'm lucky to live in America and 2)what seems 'unfair' or harsh to me, is actually common practice in other cultures. Excellent book!
