I loved this book. If you enjoy reading books about Aghanistan, Muslim culture, and the struggle of women you will love this book. Author Khaled Hosseini work goes beyond the situation of Afghanistan and talks about people and characters. He is indeed a master storyteller. I will share my favorite lines from his book. I thought after reading The Kite Runner, that this book would not follow in its footsteps. I was wrong! What a great book that reminded me of 2 things, 1)I'm lucky to live in America and 2)what seems 'unfair' or harsh to me, is actually common practice in other cultures. Excellent book!

I cried at three different places in this book. The characters are so real and thier circumstances are so haunting. I will go out and buy Khaled Hosseini next book the day it comes out. He is an amazing author.
This book shows us that even though cultures are soo different, we are all still people. We love our families, we all cry, and live our lives the best we can with the circumstances we are given.
This is a phenomenal book. Probably now in my top 5 favorite books of all time. It is beautiful and compelling. Just read it.
It took me about half the book to get really attached to the characters, but I loved the last half. Very sad, but a great book.
