What Members Thought
I find self-consciously artistic prose like this very wearing. I felt like there were too many nonsensical analogies and metaphors that just felt distracting. I may need to come back to this when I'm in a different frame of mind. If I can love HP Lovecraft and his over-the-top style, why do I stumble over this?

Meh. I think I liked it better when I was younger. Or I got caught up in it more. Now I find myself wanting to flip pages until something actually happens. My opinion of Angels & Insects has held up more over time.
It took more than 1/2 the book to get into the writing style. I liked the ending and didn't feel like it was a waste of time to read, but I don't feel like I can recommend it to anyone.
