I watched this movie on DVD years ago with my kids. When I found out it was based on a book, I was excited! Post-apocalyptic, isolated, walled cities are my schtick - bring it on!
Unfortunately, this is not an all-ages book; it is solidly aimed at children. I am not the intended audience. I'll encourage my 11 year old to read it, however.

Although I found this less appropriate for an adult audience (a little trite, a little obvious), I still understand how this made the top 100 children's books. Worth a read, but definitely not as impressive as the other kiddie lit I've been reading.

For some reason the graphic novel is tied with the actual book. So this review is for the graphic novel. I don't know, I feel like this adaptation simplified the story, but maybe that's because this is a story that fully grew in my mind. i really liked the narrator of this story. plus the sound effects really added to the story.
