This audiobook is read by the author. I didn't register that fact until about halfway through the cassettes!
The premise of the book is a missionary takes his family over to the Congo to bring Jesus and salvation to the Africans.
The story is told from the very differing points of view of each of his children. With reflective chapters thrown in occassionally in the mother/wife's voice.

Ahhh... second time around and I loved it just as much as the first. What I remembered the book was about was actually only half the book - where the family is living in the Congo as missionaries. I completely forgot the whole second half which delves into how the Congo’s politics changed and their interests were taken advantage of by other countries, most notably the USA.
This is a fantastic read if you are interested in life and politics in Africa. Very eye opening.
