The narrator for the unabridged audiobook did an excellent job bringing this story to life. The characters had distinct voices, many of which were sort of silly, but fitting for the irreverent tone of the book generally.

Christopher Moore never fails to amuse me. This book was actually somewhat more serious than others of his that I've read -- there were few appearances of demons or supernatural creatures. The book traces the story of Levi, known as Biff, who is best friends with a young Jesus Ch

As someone who grew up in the Catholic Church and willingly read the gospels on her own, just for the fun of it, I felt that Moore was as true to the generally agreed upon details of Jesus's life as he could be.

This book is easily one of my favorites. I have never read a book before that literally made me run such a wide range of emotions. I cried, laugh (A LOT), was angry, intrigued, heck I even had a twinge or two of grief here and there. It is a must read... just dont take anything too seriously..if you cant do that put the book down

I so enjoyed this imagining of the childhood of Christ. Be aware that if you are easily offended, either by swearing or by discussion of sexuality (not Jesus - he remains chaste, but his friends are busy), this may not be the book for you. I have no problem with either concept, and I loved the idea of a young man trying to determine just what is expected of him, and how to fulfill that destiny. Great fun.
