The narrator for the unabridged audiobook did an excellent job bringing this story to life. The characters had distinct voices, many of which were sort of silly, but fitting for the irreverent tone of the book generally.

This book is easily one of my favorites. I have never read a book before that literally made me run such a wide range of emotions. I cried, laugh (A LOT), was angry, intrigued, heck I even had a twinge or two of grief here and there. It is a must read... just dont take anything too seriously..if you cant do that put the book down

Be aware that if you are easily offended, either by swearing or by discussion of sexuality (not Jesus - he remains chaste, but his friends are busy), this may not be the book for you. I have no problem with either concept, and I loved the idea of a young man trying to determine just what is expected of him, and how to fulfill that destiny. Great fun. ...more
