What Members Thought

Sweeping WWII saga about a young, Jewish Hungarian who moves to Paris for architecture school and falls in love with an older woman, a ballet teacher with a mysterious past. The story follows their romance and their experience in the war.
The book was slow going at first, and almost seemed too all-encompassing, but ultimately, the characters were engaging, I enjoyed the depictions of Paris and Budapest and I found the Hungarian experience of the war to be particularly fascinating.
