Beautiful book about human life and all life, how all creatures’ paths are intertwined with each other’s. Told through 3 main, connected protagonists, the stories are funny, sad and human. Kingsolver narrates the audiobook version and her performance is excellent. She fully inhabits her characters with tone, accent and meaning. If you enjoy good writing mixed with charm and a touch of sweetness, you’ll enjoy Prodigal Summer.

I’ve discovered fairly recently that I love science and nature writing, especially when it’s written with gorgeous prose. There are three main stories that intertwine, but my favorite character was Deanna Wolfe, a biologist living alone in a protected forest.
