I struggled through this, many times I found myself skimming and trying to keep myself alert enough to read. It wasn't my cup of tea but I wanted to finish since it was chosen as book of the month in one of my challenge groups. It was also a Winner of the Nobel Prize, so I kept reading in hopes it would do something for me, but it did not.

A weighty and somewhat depressing book to plow through, but the writing (despite 2 or 3-page long meandering paragraphs) is amazing -- not to mention imaginitive and inventive. Would I read it again? No. Would I recommend it? Depends on the reader.
