Okay. I don't even know what I think about this book. I like some parts of it I guess, the friendship theme, and of course New York setting. But sometimes I feel the plot and characters (especially stories about Jude) are a bit too much. Too melodramatic, hyperbole and if I can say after finishing this book - pointless. What's the point of writing the book if the situation keeps getting worse and worse?

Also, I actually like Malcolm and JB better than Willem and Jude and I wish the writer could g ...more

It took me a long time to read this book… partly because of the length but also due in part to the difficult subject matter. I could only consume a bit at a time to digest it bit by bit. Easily my favorite read of 2022 even though there are 2 1/2 months ago, and hands down one of my top 5 of all time. I am still a bit “book hungover” from this one and probably will be for a long time. I can’t remember the last time I cried so often in public (and didn’t mind).

This has quickly risen to top 3 fav books of all time. It took me 200 pages to follow along and care about the characters.... but once you are in you are in. One of those books that you will miss the characters, that you won't be able to pick up another book and read anything else until you have processed what happened. Tears streamed down my face 10 different times, in public. I feel purged! ...more
