What Members Thought
First of all the audiobook narration gets 5 stars. Wil Wheaton is fantastic as usual. This book starts out with a nice big fat helping of info dump. I'm not a fan of info dumps so I only gave it half my attention. Which totally came back to bite me in the ass later. Because I didn't fully take in the information from the beginning it took me a while to figure out wtf was going on when the story actually started. But once I was caught up the rest of the book ran pretty smoothly. Final rating 3.5

This would be a good plane read: plot-driven and some exciting action, with non-distracting writing. I’m not the best audience for this book as I prefer character-driven novels, and the characterizations here are minimal. I’d also have been more intrigued by the speculative tech ideas if I hadn’t just watched Detroit: Becoming Human, a video game that deals with some similar ideas of artificial life/artificial bodies and definitions of humanity.
