Maybe I'm a little too "Ove", but I wasn't wild about the ending. I have a pretty icy heart, but this was really really endearing in a lot of ways, and it thawed my ice a bit. ...more

Me encanta la manera que tiene el autor para presentar las historias de sus personajes: va dejando detalles pequeños que cuando llegas a la parte final tienen sentido y crean un tapiz lleno de matices: nunca son buenos-buenos ni malos-malos, sino que se van ajustando a las circunstancias.

It is lovely. The end made me cry. What he had in his hand... *sobbing*
Now, Fredrik Backman has a very special style. I like it. I love the humor in his books. I love the characters. I love how the underdog wins. I love how children are protected. I love the understanding and love. In my mind, he continues the proud literary tradition of Astrid Lindgren, and does it acceptably well :-D

I loved this book. Gave me insight into the grumpy man in my life. Poor Ove, he is simply trying to get one thing done and everyone keeps interrupting him! Even a scrawny kitten stray!
