Absolutely loved it.
I laughed and cried and loved OVE on each single page of this books.

I don't know when Fredrik Backman met the men in my family, but he had to have met my grandfather and my father at some point in order to portray them so well. Now, granted, A MAN CALLED OVE is dealing with a 59 year old man who has lived a full life and now is ready to take steps to move on to... the next step - and that's not something I see my father doing any time soon, but the rest of it? Spot. on.

I started this not knowing much about it. I was a little dismayed to learn the reader was "The Yeti" on Friends, because I figured I'd picture that character the whole time. The story was so great, and my initial impression of George Newbern's performance was so wrong... He was a PHENOMENAL reader!

Nothing here that is unexpected. A story about a mean old man who, of course, is not mean. He's just a man with a history, like any other man. But, the story is told well, with humor and tears. It's nearly impossible to dislike difficult Ove, and a good reminder to look past the surface of people who are different than yourself.
