An extraordinary piece of art and storytelling, using the medium to great effect. I'm sure I'll return to this many times in future to enjoy again as it's the kind of comic that you'll always notice something a little different about each time.

This captivating story chronicles the happenings of one specific point on Earth through time, though not in chronological order. In present day, it is someone's living room. It became a living room over a hundred years ago, as the story shows the house/room being constructed. Indigenous People lived their lives on the land which appeared to be a dense forest in the 17th century, and after White people claimed the land for themselves, they picnicked on the sprawling lawn of cleared space. I'm not usually one for graphic novels, but the idea of seeing the evolution of a single room over the space of time intrigued me. I was expecting the book to unfold in chronological order, but instead it leaped back and forth across decades as you turned the page. Interesting concept but not going to sway me over to the graphic side.
