The Arabian Nights is one of my favorite stories from childhood, so I was nervous about reading this retelling. I had high expectations and didn't want to be disappointed. Although I had a few minor issues, the lush language made it a delicious read.

loved this!!!!!!!! tho the mystery wasn't quite what I'd imagined, given the setup.

Although there were some things I liked about this book, it had a lot of issues. The pacing was off - I found it to be pretty slow and even kind of boring throughout a lot of it. Shahrzad's plan was not very well thought out and worked WAY too soon. She was billed as being extremely clever, but really I thought she was mostly thoughtless and reckless, and just got lucky.
