I really, REALLY liked this book. I'm not a gamer, and so I'm very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. This book is very clever! You don't need to "get" all the '80s references in order to appreciate this book.

Listened to audio as re-read. Even better the second time around!
Super fun adventure book that is nostalgic for any person born in the 70s, raised in the 80s, and had any experience playing video games (I loved Atari’s Pong ♥️). Also great for YA dystopian readers, like myself.
I looked up the book up when I read it was going to be a movie directed by Steven Spielberg, released next month. When I saw the reviews & the high scores it has received, I immediately bought it. I couldn’t put it down for 2 days.

This book is full of 80 pop culture references, gamer lingo and friendship. How could it possible go wrong?
