It's funny and good material. We have bunch of new people on the most famous discovery spaceship on the whole galaxy. In this specific ship there are away misions and no matter which department they're in they will be part of one or more of these missions. It looks exciting , exploring new worlds..although ther is a but. On these missions always atleast one crewman ends up dead and there are five senior officers who are exceptions to this rule.

John Scalzi - you have captured my heart.
I've been a Star Trek fan since Star Trek: The Next Generation days. My dad was an original Star Trek fan before me. I remember gathering around the television, chowing down on a late night snack of my mom's homemade cinnamon rolls, and turning on the newest episode of TNG with anticipation making me shiver with excitement. My sisters and I would watch, and then animatedly discuss the show on commercial breaks with my parents. But honestly, I never notice ...more

Very funny book, and a great twist on time travel and on time and how we view it in general. It's hard to describe without spoilers and I don't much like using the spoiler tag.
It's also a fantastic riff on Star Trek, the television series, as you can obviously tell by the book title. I mean, that's not a spoiler. ...more

Clever clever clever! And funny. And then goes all meta for the last 80 pages and you're like "Whoa, alternate timelines, man. What is my life?"

This is a fantastically funny book, for any sci-fi fan I feel like this is a must read. Extremely sarcastic and ironic while ultimately about finding happiness both in life and in a genre riddled with plot holes. I listened to the audiobook with Wil Wheaton narrating. Although he didn't do voices for different characters and that made me mix them up constantly, his intonation and sarcastic tone were completely spot on and had me laughing out loud.

I loved this book. Played on all the old science fiction tv stereotypes but still respecting the genre and being funny at the same time. I even loved the little codas at the end. So enjoyable.

6/11 - I do love this book and it was a very different experience to listen to the incomparable Wil Wheaton this time instead of reading. I did not like the codas as much this time.
