I changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars because I love this book more and more each time I read it. Apparently the author actually wanted women to have more rights, and this story is about making the best of things in a repressive society. (I read that in an intro.)
This is one of those books that is still enjoyable in movie form.
The characters were easy to know and love. While the reading of it takes putting oneself in their time period and letting go of some feminist views, I think that it is also timeless in many respects.
