What Members Thought
There's so much going on in this affecting, layered story that it's hard to know what to highlight. There's our lead, Irina, who is trying to unveil secrets belonging to another character, when she has secrets of her own. Then there's Alma, a matriarch of a rich San Francisco family, whose inner (and former) life is so tantalizing to Irina. There are others, too. Alma's family (past and present), her friends, and her great loves. I loved them all, to some degree.
