This was a hard book to read and I almost put it down after the first 30-40 pages. Hard as in uncomfortable. I never was able to take Finch's thoughts and conversation about death and dying in stride as I read it. It made me nervous and anxious throughout, and for that reason I almost closed the book. First, I'd get rid of the comparison between this and 2 other popular YA books (hello, The Fault In Our Stars). Second, I'd suggest having a tissue ready. YA books are sometimes difficult to read because they shove teenage angst and issues front and center, but they are often my favorites to read. This one is no exception there. A quick read w quirky teens (weren't we all quirky in our own way), this one inspires me to wander more.
