Elle Magazine gave me a copy of this week as it's up for one of their top books of the year, but unfotunately reading this book was not a euphoric experience for me. At best I could give it moderately interesting. This book had a SLOW and somewhat confused start and had I not been reading it for a review I very likely would have put it down.

Interesting novel, inspired by the author's readings about Margaret Mead, of anthropologists in the 30s, at the very beginning of the discipline. I found the first chapter quite horrific and had a hard time pushing through it, but then I became caught up in the story. It's short, but has a lot in observation and information woven in.
