Wow---intense, dystopia, and brings up a lot to think about in terms of war. Timely given the over 10 years of war our county has seen and is seeing. Well worth reading the other two books to get to this. I started to read some reviews here and elsewhere on line, and it seemed many were unhappy with this book. This was my least favorite of the books in The Hunger Games series. It was much longer than it needed to be, and I found Katniss to be very annoying. Loved the series! This book however left me depressed. I think of the series, the first was my favorite, then the 2nd.... But I couldn't put any of them down... much to the demise of my house LOL! ...more

I was happy with the Katiss/Peeta/Gale triangle resolution---realistic and true to story ending---but Katniss borders on a Bella self-loathing that drove me a little crazy towards the end.
