What Members Thought
As with The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, this was a compulsively good read, and I greatly enjoyed it. The writing, as such, is passable, but the plot is so engrossing that I was reading too fast to pay attention to the words.
First read: June 2, 2011. Not nearly as good as the first two. not as much action, a lot of medicated depression and hiding in small spaces, all the characters in disagreements and an unsatisfying conclusion. Still, if you read the first two, you've got to read the last one, too.
Second read: July 1, 2015. I respected Katniss' and the other characters' PTSD more this time around, but I still didn't enjoy this novel as much as the first two. I still don't understand why she killed Coin and am stil ...more

Probably my favorite of the three books even if the ending was predictable. Nicely enough written with mostly relatable characters...
I read through the series over the weekend. It was alot to read through but I couldn't stop reading. I think I need some time to absorb it all. I know I was a little disappointed with this last book but I still can't put my thoughts into words.
