Catching Fire was so good, it was really hard for Collins to top it for me. There was a ton of back story and explanation in this one, despite the fact that I felt there wasn't enough reminding of what had happened in the previous books in the series, which made the first half or so seem to drag. In addition, I went through the third quarter of the book feeling that there must have been something that I missed.

Second read, but this time I listened on audiobook. More of it made sense. It’s been a few years.
