This book left me with mixed feelings.

While I was intrigued and inspired by the bravery of Malala and her family, the narrative itself is rather disjointed. I would have been more affected by Malala's story if the focus had been more on her personal story and less on the historical and political details about Pakistan.

I hope Malala continues to fight for education. Extremists like the cowards who shot her thrive on ignorance and hate.

I read this out loud to Isabelle. I think it surprised her that in the world today there are girls who are denied an education. It was eye opening for her and a great discussion.
